Work Experience
F settled in well and showed great compassion and enthusiasm; showing a kind and caring nature to our residents. These are fundamental skills we look for in carers so this is great to see. We have had lovely feedback from residents too. She built up a beautiful friendship with one of our residents who said she was wonderful
Throughout his work experience, L has shown real promise and really thinks about what he's doing. He's constantly mindful of costs, what other people want, and always asking questions. I would happily have him in the kitchen again
When A is asked to do something he focuses on it until it is done. He asks what he needs to do and acts on what he is requested to do.
These are just a few of the highly positive comments we have received from employers about our pupils while they have been on work experience.
A variety of placements across South Devon have been secured for our Year 10 and 11 pupils during this academic year – and they have been absolutely smashing it!
We have had pupils brighten up the day of residents at a nursing home; assist our catering team here in preparing lunch for staff and pupils; handle stock in a warehouse; experience how to MOT and service vehicles at a busy car garage; serve customers and help in the kitchen at a café/restaurant; assist stylists in a hair salon.
And there are more exciting placements planned for the terms ahead.
